I’m a lecturer in English and Creative Industries at the University of York, in York, UK, where I live with my partner and dog. Previously, I was a lecturer and head of Creative Writing at York St John University. Before that, I did a PhD at the University of Manchester, and before that, studied at Royal Holloway (University of London) and Berklee College of Music in Boston. Before that, I was born in 1980 and grew up in a small town across the Mississippi River from St. Louis, Missouri. I ride a Bonneville and have a birthmark that looks like a hickey.
